The Sound Around

Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020    2–4pm

UPDATE: This event has been rescheduled from Sunday, Jan. 12 to Sunday, Jan. 26 due to weather.

What is the difference between noise and music? Is there a difference at all? Are you a musician, a poet, or simply interested in experimenting with sound? Collaborate in sound creation, exploration, and documentation with local noisemaker Corey Kellicut! We’ve got everything you will need to participate, but feel free to bring any objects you’re interested in exploring, such as empty water bottles, umbrellas, slinkies, tin foil, or anything else you can imagine. Potential instruments are everywhere!

The Sound Around is part of the Community Open Call, an experimental platform that invites the community to become a central figure in the planning process for the arts and cultural programming offered at the MSU Broad Art Lab. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Apply for the Community Open Call here.

Held at the Art Lab, located directly across the street from the museum at 565 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823.
