Memory Box Sculpture Workshop

Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019    1–4pm

When we lose a loved one, how do the things they leave behind help us continue to feel close to them? Whether it’s grandma’s rosary or dad’s pocket knife, these daily items become meaningful representations of their past owners. In this workshop, led by Michigan-based sculptor and teaching artist Steve Baibak, participants will construct boxes to house and celebrate these special inherited possessions. Creating a space for these precious mementos can provide a sense of collaboration with someone we’ve lost, but in the end we choose how these significant objects go on.

Cost of registration ($40) covers instruction and materials. Click here to register.

Held at the Art Lab, located directly across the street from the museum at 565 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823.
