L-Evating Art

Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020    6–8pm

What do you envision when you listen to music? What do you feel? Innovative Flutist James Brinkmann encourages you to put that feeling on paper at this creative experience where community members are invited to make art in response to music. This event is inspired by Brinkmann's experiences playing in Chicago’s public train stations (a.k.a. The “L”) where he invited passengers to create communal art while they listened to classical music. No art “skills” are required + all are welcome to be curious, inspired, and creative!

Learn more about James and his music practice here.

L-Evating Art is part of the Community Open Call, an experimental platform that invites the community to become a central figure in the planning process for the arts and cultural programming offered at the MSU Broad Art Lab. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Apply for the Community Open Call here.

Held at the Art Lab, located directly across the street from the museum at 565 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823.
