8 Elements of Art + Music: Point
8 Elements of Art and Music is a hands-on interdisciplinary workshop series where adults can have fun exploring the connection between classical music and visual arts in a relaxed environment. James Brinkmann, owner of Innovative Flutist, will be leading the workshops and will bring in guest musicians throughout the series. Each workshop focuses on a different element that is a part of a larger work of art or music: Point, Line, Shape, Form, Color, Value, Texture, Space. From painting and molding to live performances and making music together, there are fun creative activities for everyone. Let your creativity loose and explore your artistic self!
Sunday, March 31, 2–3:30pm: Point
With lots of random dots, how does an artist find a larger image? How does a composer create a beautiful symphony of individual notes? While not explicitly an element of art, points begin the process of creating. Explore points in art and music in this interactive workshop.
8 Elements of Art and Music is part of the Community Open Call, an experimental platform that invites the community to become a central figure in the planning process for the arts and cultural programming offered at the MSU Broad Art Lab. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
