Community Open Call: Virtual Community Sculpture

Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020    7–8pm

What does "collaborative sculpture" look like? Makers, art lovers, explorers, and the community are invited to come together to create a collaborative sculpture. Work with MSU graduate Tassi Miller by virtually directing her as she builds the sculpture over four sessions. Give real-time feedback from start to finish, including choice of materials, how/where to attach, and how to finish (such as paint vs. cloth). The final piece will be visually representative of many voices exploring elements of design and collaboration. After the event, sign up to receive a kit with supplies to create your own sculpture at home.

Registration is required. Click here to register for this free online event.

The Virtual Community Sculpture project is part of the Community Open Call, an experimental platform that invites the community to become a central figure in the planning process for the arts and cultural programming offered at the MSU Broad Art Lab. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Apply for the Community Open Call here.

This online event will take place on Zoom.
