Readings from the American Road

Wednesday, May. 19, 2021    7–8pm

Literary responses to the automobile are vast and varied: beyond The Great Gatsby’s famous and fated yellow car, poets and writers from diverse perspectives have often explored how cars shape community and identity. Coordinated in response to InterStates of Mind, this reading features new work by writers on the theme of the American Road and published by the innovative platform of story machines, Short Edition. InterStates of Mind: Rewriting the Map of the United States in the Age of the Automobile is on view through August 8, 2021 at the MSU Broad.

Registration is required. Click here to register for this free online event.

This online event will take place on Zoom.
