BeauTIEful Launch Party

Friday, Jan. 10, 2020    6–8pm

Did you know there are between 10,000 and 13,000 refugees currently living in mid-Michigan? Come celebrate the results of a collaboration between the beauTIEful project and the Refugee Development Center (RDC) and support our region’s refugee population. The beauTIEful project, created by local entrepreneur and MSU student Bridgeen Shapton, builds on community-created designs, transforming them into scarves and ties to be sold in support of a local charity. For this iteration of her project, Bridgeen met with 40 middle school and high school students from the RDC to collaborate, and teach them about how art can give back!

Learn more about beauTIEful here.

Scarves and ties will be on view and available for purchase at the MSU Broad Art Lab.

This iteration of the beauTIEful project is part of the Community Open Call, an experimental platform that invites the community to become a central figure in the planning process for the arts and cultural programming offered at the MSU Broad Art Lab. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Apply for the Community Open Call here.

Held at the Art Lab, located directly across the street from the museum at 565 E Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823.
